1. Why you would like to be an ISHM Board Member

Response: I believe I can help further the awareness of ISHM. In addition, I think my particular experience would lend some diversity to the board's leadership. The acceptance of certification of safety professionals, during my working career, does not appear to be growing and does not appear to be a requirement for Safety and Health Manager positions. This trend needs to be reversed and we need to work thru other safety organizations, industry groups, etc. to get this accomplished. I believe I can assist in this effort.

2. What skills and experience that you will bring to the board to enhance the organization and the CSHM / ASHM certifications.

Response: The skills I would bring to the board are two fold. First, a very extensive knowledge of safety laws, practices, problems as experienced by safety professionals in the field. I have held safety positions from the bottom to the top both in the field and at the corporate level.

Second, is my experience in dealing with top management in putting forth the message in point #1. As a Safety Professional of 30+ years with an excellent track record, I bring a lot of credibility to senior managers when I speak on the subject of Safety and Health. standing amongst diverse organizations across Federal, State, and local jurisdictions.
