Deborah Bowen, CSHM. Deborah received her BS and MS in Occupational Safety from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (UW-W), and has worked in the field of Occupational Safety for 29 years. Since 1983, Deborah has served as a lecturer within the Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health Department (OESH) at her alma mater, UW-W. The classes she instructs include Industrial Accident Prevention, Fire Protection/Prevention, and Personal and Public Safety. Deborah believes that her experience with working in various capacities, and with diverse groups and cultures would be of benefit while serving as a member of the ISHM Board of Directors, and would value the opportunity to prove such.

Warren K. Brown, CSP, ARM, CSHM. After 36 years at General Motors and Delphi he is Supervisor Safety at DMAX, Ltd., Moraine, Ohio. He holds a BS in Industrial Technology from Ohio University, MBA from the University of Dayton and an ARM from the Insurance Institute of America. Co-founder of the ASSE Kittyhawk Chapter he was selected "Safety Professional of the Year" by the ASSE All Ohio Council (1987) and ASSE Region VII (1988-89). He has been an ASSE Board member for 13 years as ASSE Region VII vice president 1989 - 1993 and 1997 – 2001 and as vice president of Professional Development 2001-05. He is currently Senior Vice President and will be President 2008-09. He serves on the Sinclair Community College Safety program advisory committee and the Board of Directors of the Dayton Miami Valley Safety Council, and was chairman in 1980-81. In 1988, he was named a General Motors "Safety Fellow", the highest General Motors individual safety award.

Kathy Bruss. Vice Chair. Kathy is the Staff Occupational Safety Specialist at the Ethicon facility for Johnson and Johnson in San Angelo, Texas. Kathy has one direct report that she is mentoring at this site. She has responsibility for the overall Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Process Safety Management, Worker’s Compensation Management and Ergonomic Risk Reduction programs at this site. Kathy also has responsibility for developing and implementing all programs and strategies to take the site to Johnson and Johnson’s mandate of “beyond compliance.” In the past she has worked internationally and has experience with Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand safety systems.

Carl Griffith. Carl started his career as a Fire/Safety Specialist for the United States Air Force in the 1970’s. Carl serves as an Officer of the Utilities Division of the National Safety Council. He has earned the NSC's Distinguished Service to Safety Award. He is a board member and past president of the National Safety Management Society (NSMS). Carl is also a board member of the Illinois Safety Council. Carl has a B.A. in Safety Management, and has written numerous articles for professional safety publications. He also holds membership in the American Society of Safety Engineers, National Safety Council, Underground Contractor’s Association Safety Committee.

Betty Hintch. Betty is the first public member of the ISHM Board of Directors. Betty was selected by the Board to fulfill an accreditation requirement which requires ISHM to have the advice and consultation of a member of the public. She is the editor of Compliance Magazine, which is part of Douglas Publications. She received her Bachelor of Music Education from DePaul University in 1985 and attended the University of Chicago and Northwestern University where she studied Journalism. She is a member of the Chicago Women in Publishing, Toastmaster International, National Safety Council, American Society of Safety Engineers, American Industrial Hygiene Association and Society for Human Resource Management.

Aušrine Karaitis. , CSHM, FAIC. Committee Secretary. Chemical Safety Specialist at University of Illinois at Chicago, EHSO and Safety Director for EPIR Technologies Inc. During her 21 years in the safety field, Ausrine has developed and implemented laboratory and chemical safety programs. Previously, as a chemist in the State of Illinois Forensic Toxicology Laboratory, she gained experience in laboratory practices and chemical work which has proved invaluable for advising laboratory personnel. Aušrine is in her third term as President of Lithuanian Mercy Lift, a voluntary not-for-profit charitable organization.

Charles Kelley. Treasurer. Charles received his Associate in Arts from Spartanburg Methodist College, Spartanburg, South Carolina. He attended Wofford College, Spartanburg, South Carolina majoring in Industrial Psychology. He has twenty five years of Construction Safety experience in building construction and plant production safety. His objective is to use that experience to accomplish a goal of construction safety direction and management using his past experiences to accomplish reducing and maintaining minimum accident, injury and loss control. Charles is a certified safety and health manager. He is a member of the National Safety Management Society, American Society of Safety Engineers, and World Safety Organization, past Director, Ashtabula, Ohio Area Chamber of Commerce and a Director, Veterans of Safety.

Nancy J. Moorhouse. CSP, CMSP, CSHM, OHST, ARM, ALCM. Nancy is the Vice-President Director of Safety at Teichert Construction/Teichert Materials, Sacramento, CA. She oversees a staff of 14 safety professionals in the vision of zero injuries/zero claims. She has authored the company's injury prevention and safety program and is responsible for many of the company's risk management functions including environmental, workers' compensation, crisis management and safety. She is a participant in Cal/OSHA Safety Advisory Committees on proposed rulemakings and is a member of the NSSGA/MSHA Safety Alliance.

Jan G. Rosenberg . CSP, CSHM, CPCU, ARM, AIM. Chief Administrative Officer, Nevada Safety Consultation & Training Section (SCATS), Las Vegas, Nev. Jan manages the occupational safety and health (OSHA) consultation and training program for the State of Nevada. Responsibilities include management of staff in Las Vegas, Reno, and Elko. He is responsible for effectively managing internal and external relationships with private and public employers and employees.

Thomas J. Slavin CIH, CSP, CSHM, CPEA. Chair - Executive Committee. Thomas is manager occupational safety and health for International Truck and Engine Corporation in Warrenville, IL. He has 33 years experience in safety, health and ergonomics, beginning his career at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association. He has been with International Truck and Engine Corporation for 23 years where he develops and directs corporate safety and health policy and strategy, cross plant audit program for compliance assurance, performance metrics, OSHA litigation strategy, safety and health training programs. He is part of a corporate focus on health management and total productivity management.
