Magdy Akladios, PhD, PE, CSP, CPE, CSHM. Magdy is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (2005-present). Previously he was an Assistant, then Associate Professor at West Virginia University (1996-2005). He is experienced and capable researcher and educator with specific knowledge concerning a wide variety of occupational safety and health programs in general, Construction, and in Ergonomics in specific. He has acted as PI and Co-PI for a number of grants and projects. He has also been involved in curriculum development, authoring book chapters, professional journal articles, website development and maintenance, and a variety of other publications. He is also involved with non-credit and continuing-Ed centers such as (Texas Engineering Extension (TEEX), and the College of the Mainland (COM). He has chaired Master's Thesis committees and advised students in the fields of Safety & Health, and Ergonomics.

Deborah Bowen, CSHM. Deborah received her BS and MS in Occupational Safety from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater (UW-W), and has worked in the field of Occupational Safety for 29 years. Since 1983, Deborah has served as a lecturer within the Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health Department (OESH) at her alma mater, UW-W. The classes she instructs include Industrial Accident Prevention, Fire Protection/Prevention, and Personal and Public Safety.
Deborah believes that her experience with working in various capacities, and with diverse groups and cultures would be of benefit while serving as a member of the ISHM Board of Directors, and would value the opportunity to prove such.

John H. Bridges III, CSHM, CHMM, CPEA John H. Bridges III currently serves as an Adjunct Faculty and Senior Fellow for Homeland Security at The National Graduate School. His diverse knowledge and experience supported his previous role as Assistant Administrator, National Integration Center (NIC) within the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), to include designation as the Homeland Security Education Program Administrator for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). He is a member of the American Society of Safety Engineers (ASSE), the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) E-54 Committee on Homeland Security Applications, ASTM Committee E50 on Environmental Assessment, Risk Management and Corrective Action, appointed to the American National Standards Institute's (ANSI's) Homeland Security Standards Panel (ANSI-HSSP).

Warren K. Brown, CSP, ARM, CSHM. After 36 years at General Motors and Delphi he is Supervisor Safety at DMAX, Ltd., Moraine, Ohio. He holds a BS in Industrial Technology from Ohio University, MBA from the University of Dayton and an ARM from the Insurance Institute of America. Co-founder of the ASSE Kittyhawk Chapter he was selected "Safety Professional of the Year" by the ASSE All Ohio Council (1987) and ASSE Region VII (1988-89). He has been an ASSE Board member for 13 years as ASSE Region VII vice president 1989 - 1993 and 1997 – 2001 and as vice president of Professional Development 2001-05. He is currently Senior Vice President and will be President 2008-09. He serves on the Sinclair Community College Safety program advisory committee and the Board of Directors of the Dayton Miami Valley Safety Council, and was chairman in 1980-81. In 1988, he was named a General Motors "Safety Fellow", the highest General Motors individual safety award. |

Kathleen Bruss, CSHM. Kathy received her BS in Psychology and English from the University of Wisconsin and her Graduate Certificate in HR Management/Training and Development from Charles Sturt University in Australia and has worked in the Environmental, Health and Safety field for over 20 years. Since 2005 Kathy has worked as the Staff Occupational Safety Specialist at the Ethicon facility for Johnson and Johnson in San Angelo, Texas. She has responsibility for the overall Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Process Safety Management, Worker’s Compensation Management and Ergonomic Risk Reduction programs at this site. In the past she has worked internationally and has experience with Canadian, Australian, and New Zealand safety and environmental management systems.

Betty Hintch. Betty is the first public member of the ISHM Board of Directors. Betty was selected by the Board to fulfill an accreditation requirement which requires ISHM to have the advice and consultation of a member of the public. She is the editor of Compliance Magazine, which is part of Douglas Publications. She received her Bachelor of Music Education from DePaul University in 1985 and attended the University of Chicago and Northwestern University where she studied Journalism. She is a member of the Chicago Women in Publishing, Toastmaster International, National Safety Council, American Society of Safety Engineers, American Industrial Hygiene Association and Society for Human Resource Management. |

Darren J. Hunter Darren Hunter has more than 15 years of experience defending clients during government investigations and against government enforcement actions under a variety of regulations and statutes, including the Occupational Safety and Health Act, Natural Gas Pipeline Safety Act, Mine Safety and Health Act, Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, CERCLA, RCRA and various other environmental, health and safety laws. He also practices litigation law and is experienced in business and commercial matters, trade secrets, products liability, natural and propane gas defense, toxic torts, employment law and personal injury defense. |

Aušrine Karaitis, CSHM, FAIC. Chemical Safety Specialist at University of Illinois at Chicago, EHSO and Safety Director for EPIR Technologies Inc. During her 21 years in the safety field, Ausrine has developed and implemented laboratory and chemical safety programs. Previously, as a chemist in the State of Illinois Forensic Toxicology Laboratory, she gained experience in laboratory practices and chemical work which has proved invaluable for advising laboratory personnel. Aušrine is in her third term as President of Lithuanian Mercy Lift, a voluntary not-for-profit charitable organization.

Charles Kelley, CSHM.Charles received his Associate in Arts from Spartanburg Methodist College, Spartanburg, South Carolina. He attended Wofford College, Spartanburg, South Carolina majoring in Industrial Psychology. He has twenty five years of Construction Safety experience in building construction and plant production safety. His objective is to use that experience to accomplish a goal of construction safety direction and management using his past experiences to accomplish reducing and maintaining minimum accident, injury and loss control.
Charles is a certified safety and health manager. He is a member of the National Safety Management Society, American Society of Safety Engineers, and World Safety Organization, past Director, Ashtabula, Ohio Area Chamber of Commerce and a Director, Veterans of Safety. |

Jan G. Rosenberg, CSP, CSHM, CPCU, ARM, AIM. Chief Administrative Officer, Nevada Safety Consultation & Training Section (SCATS), Las Vegas, Nevada. Jan manages the occupational safety and health (OSHA) consultation and training program for the State of Nevada. Responsibilities include management of staff in Las Vegas, Reno, and Elko. He is responsible for effectively managing internal and external relationships with private and public employers and employees. |

Thomas J. Slavin, CIH, CSP, CSHM, CPEA. Tom is manager occupational safety and health for International Truck and Engine Corporation in Warrenville, IL. He has 33 years experience in safety, health and ergonomics, beginning his career at Liberty Mutual Insurance Company and the Motor Vehicle Manufacturers Association. He has been with International Truck and Engine Corporation for 23 years where he develops and directs corporate safety and health policy and strategy, cross plant audit program for compliance assurance, performance metrics, OSHA litigation strategy, safety and health training programs. He is part of a corporate focus on health management and total productivity management. |
