MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIR

We are rapidly approaching the first election cycle where three Board seats are up for election. This is your chance as a CSHM to be active in the governing of the ISHM. Board Members serve a six-year term and represent the membership through attendance at periodic meetings of the Board.
The Board is currently comprised of nine qualified CSHM members representing certificants, regulators, and educators. There is also a voting member representing the public. This election represents the beginning of one third of the qualified CSHM member Board seats being up for election every two years. The ISHM membership will be nominating qualified members as candidates for Board positions prior to July 1, 2007 as called for in the Bylaws.
All elected officers of the corporation are chosen from the Board. There is a Chair, a Vice Chair, a Secretary, and a Treasurer. These Executive Committee members, along with the other elected Board members, serve as the policy making body for the ISHM. They are responsible for developing public policy positions for the membership. The Board also provides policy guidance to the Managing Director on the operations of the ISHM.
As we are on the cusp of accreditation, this in an exciting time in the history of our organization. By becoming a Board member, you can have an impact on the course of our organization. I encourage you to seek nomination for the three Board seats that are up for election.
