 BOARD MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

Election of the new Executive Committee:

Accreditation:
- Hiring of a consultant to assist in preparing the resubmission of the application for accreditation through NCCA
- Targeting resubmission by September 30, 2006
- Based on the consultant’s advice the CSHM exam will eliminate the extended answer questions and only include 150 multiple choice questions
Study Guide:
Steve Geigle is working with the National Safety Management Society to develop a study guide for the CSHM exam.
The next meeting of the ISHM Board will be Saturday March 18, 8:30 a.m. in Chicago at the O’Hare Residence Inn by Marriott.
NEW ASSOCIATE SAFETY AND HEALTH MANAGERS (ASHM)
Congratulations to our newest Associate Safety and Health Managers. They are:

Graduates from schools offering safety and health degree programs approved by ISHM are immediately eligible for the ASHM. Those individuals qualifying for the ASHM certification are eligible to take the CSHM exam with a minimum of 2 years safety and health management experience.

Members on the Move!
Laurie Benic took and passed the CSHM exam last year in Grand Rapids, MI. She writes… “shortly after taking the certification exam, I accepted a job with the Simplex Grinnell office, (a division of Tyco Safety Products) in Bentonville, Arkansas. I am happy to let you know my certification is bringing me credibility to our customers in this area.”
