Summer 2005

ISHM Board Meeting Highlights

The Board of Directors met April 15, 2005 in Chicago, IL. Highlights of the meeting include:

1. Introduction of Betty Hintch, editor of Compliance Magazine. Betty is a public member of the Board of Directors and looks forward to working with ISHM and expects mutual benefit from this relationship.

2. Upcoming Board of Director Election. There are three Board positions to be filled this year. One position is open as a result of the resignation of Cynthia Duffield; the two other positions are occupied by Tom Slavin and Greg Green. Incumbents may be candidates for a maximum of two terms.

3. Bylaws. The Board approved a bylaw change that makes the Managing Director a non-voting member of the Board.

4. Proctor Handbook. Dr. Sorine reported that the Proctor handbook is ready to be printed.

5. Budget. The Board approved the budget for 2005. We have estimated income of $55,000 and expenses of $67,000. The deficit is mainly due to expenditures in promoting the CSHM and accreditation with NCCA.

6. Contracts. The management services contract with Phillip Mueller and Associates was renewed through April 2006 with a monthly fee increase from $2000.00 to $2,500.00 starting in July 2005.

7. Next Meeting. The Board scheduled their next meeting in Orlando, Fl. during the National Safety Congress.

CSHM Invoices Coming Soon

Members will be invoiced for their 2006 renewal fees by the middle of July. We will invoice via email approximately 85% of our membership, the remaining members will receive their invoice by regular mail. Remember, dues must be received by September 30, 2005, otherwise the renewal fee increases from $80.00 to $110.00.

Whenever we send out a mass email we receive a portion of those back as undeliverable. Many users are set-up with spam and virus protection systems that do not accept our mail. Our webmaster, Steve Geigle, suggests that you add our email to your address book or contacts list, this will allow correspondence from us to come through uninterrupted. You should use the address: ishm "at" izones.net.
